What does the UETTDRMP001 Access Authority training cover, and how long does it take?
The UETTDRMP001 – Apply Access Authority Procedures to Work on or Near Electrical Apparatus course equips participants with the knowledge to safely access Distribution Supply Authority networks, manage risk, and comply with permit-to-work procedures. Delivery is available face-to-face or blended learning, with an initial session lasting 4 hours and renewals taking 2 hours. Successful participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

Who should enrol in the Energex/Ergon Authorisation course, and what is covered?

The “1656 – Introduction to Electrical Network Infrastructure for Authorised Persons” course is ideal for safety observers, spotters, electricians, and contractors required to work near electrical network infrastructure. Delivered over one full day (7 hours face-to-face), participants learn to identify exclusion zones, manage hazards, understand their roles under electrical safety codes, and respond appropriately in emergency situations.

What does the Elevating Work Platform (EWP) Yellow Card training involve?

The RIIHAN301E – Operate Elevating Work Platform course (commonly known as EWP Yellow Card training) provides essential training for safely using elevating work platforms in the field. Delivered via face-to-face or blended learning, the initial program is 8 hours, covering site setup, platform operation, safety protocols, communication procedures, hazard identification (including electrical hazards), and emergency response. Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment.

Am I eligible for funded training through CSQ, and which courses qualify?

Yes—eligible Queensland building and construction workers (including electrical contractors and telco professionals) may access CSQ-funded training at reduced or no out-of-pocket cost. For example, CPCCCM2012 – Work Safely at Heights is currently CSQ funded and delivers accredited training over 7 hours (initial) and 6 hours for renewals, with no gap fee for eligible participants.
