Elevating Work Platform Training FAQ’s
Do I need a High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for EWP training?
Not always. For platforms under 11 metres, you don’t need a High Risk Work Licence, but you still require nationally recognised training such as RIIHAN301E or TLID3035. For boom-type platforms 11 metres or more, the TLILIC0005 course is required to apply for a High Risk Work Licence (WP class).
How long does the EWP training take?
Training duration depends on the course.
- Under 11 metres (RIIHAN301E/TLID3035): Approximately 1 day
- 11 metres or more (TLILIC0005): Usually 3 days, including theory, practical training, and assessment.
What PPE do I need to bring to the course?
Participants must wear safety boots, long pants, a high-visibility shirt or vest, gloves, and a hard hat. PPE is essential to meet WHS compliance during practical training.
